Need Help!

Hey all,

I need some help. There is a drug that was approved for the treatment of ALS in Japan. It has been proven safe and effective in slowing the progression in ALS. It is called edaravone and essentially is a high powered antioxidant. It is possible and legal to import this drug into the U.S.  All you need is your Dr. to sign off on some paperwork. My doctor is supportive of this, but due to  Mass General's policies he is unable to do it. So, I am in search of a doctor who will. Does anyone know any progressive thinking doctors in or around New England? Even if you think they may, I will follow up with them. Thank you so much for your help!

What a great two days!

The past two days have been great! I got to see many great friends including three badasses living with ALS Pat Quinn, Beth Hebron and Arthur Cohen! I had a great appointment with Dr. Bach as well. We are going to be trying out some changes with my respiratory care and I will be introducing breath stacking into my daily routine. I am hopeful that these changes will allow me to stay off of a trach for a while. I will do my best to update you all on my respiratory care pretty regularly.

Thank you!

I just want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone in my life! I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for all of you. Not a day goes by that I don't reflect on how incredibly lucky I am.  The whole ALS thing sucks, there's no doubt about it. I do believe that I will beat it and it is because of all of you that I will. A special thanks to my loving wife Casey. You are my inspiration to get up and keep fighting each day! You are my hero, my best friend and an incredible wife. I love you baby!

Backup Plan!

With some bad weather heading our way and my now needing certain medical equipment throughout the day,  Casey and I purchased a generator today. Thank you everyone who has donated to us! We would not have been able to afford this otherwise and unfortunately having power is now necessary in my life.. Love you all!

Fundraising Committee

As my breathing has continued to decline, I will likely need a trach in the next six months. Casey and I have decided to form a fundraising committee. This committee will help us to come up with and put on fundraisers throughout the year to help us raise the money we will need for the increase of my care. If you are interested in being a part of this committee please email me at bforster31789@gmail.com.
